The Five Senses
Your five superpowers
Duration: 2:02
See, hear, smell, taste, and touch: you have five amazing superpowers! Join our little explorer and discover your five senses, and how they talk to your brain.
In short
Your five senses are sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Your eyes see colors, shapes, and things that move. Your ears catch sounds, like a bird singing or a dog barking. Your nose smells things, from fresh cookies to stinky socks. Your tongue tastes sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. Your skin feels if something is soft or rough, hot or cold. Your senses are like messengers: they send messages to your brain, super fast, and your brain puts them together to tell you what is around you. Your senses also work as a team (when your nose is stuffed up, food does not taste the same) and they help keep you safe, like when your nose smells smoke or your ears hear a car coming.

Hearing! Your ears catch the sounds.

Because your senses work as a team: your sense of smell helps you taste your food.
Where do your senses send their messages?
